Govt launches online portal for Ramzan Relief Package 2026

Ramzan Relief Package 2026

The federal government has rolled out a digital system to help families check if they qualify for financial support under the Prime Minister’s Ramzan Relief Package 2026.

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has launched an online portal that allows citizens to confirm their eligibility online. There is no need to visit any office or stand in long queues.

The system has been developed by the National Information Technology Board. People can visit pmrrp.nitb.gov.pk, enter their 13-digit CNIC number and receive a verification result within moments. The service is also available through the Pak App, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Officials said the aim is to make the process simple and transparent so that support reaches those who truly need it during the holy month.

Review meeting held to ensure smooth rollout

Earlier, on the direction of the Prime Minister, a high-level meeting was held to review preparations for the Ramzan Relief Package 2026. The meeting was chaired by Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Syed Imran Ahmad Shah.

Representatives from NADRA, the State Bank of Pakistan, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, BISP, the National Telecommunication Corporation, the Press Information Department and participating banks attended the session.

During the meeting, the minister directed the State Bank to begin transferring relief payments without delay. He also instructed banks to remain fully operational on the first day of Ramzan to avoid any disruption in payments. Pending beneficiary accounts are to be opened on a priority basis.

To improve coordination, officials have formed a WhatsApp group of focal persons. Progress updates are being shared twice a day.

The minister later visited the control room set up to monitor disbursements. A real-time dashboard showed that around 200,000 calls had been received so far. More than 95,000 calls were resolved through the automated IVR system, while about 23,000 were handled by call agents.

BISP has been directed to keep the control room open 24 hours a day, at least during the first ten days of Ramzan, to address complaints and queries quickly.

8070 and 9999 codes explained

This year, two separate relief programmes are in place. Many people remain unsure about which one applies to them.

The 8070 code relates to the Punjab government’s Ramzan package. It is meant only for residents of Punjab. Applicants can send their CNIC number, without dashes, to 8070 to check eligibility. Verification is carried out through the Punjab Socio Economic Registry and other provincial records. Eligible families may receive cash support, ration bags, or both, depending on local arrangements.

The 9999 code is linked to the Prime Minister’s Ramzan Relief Programme. This federal scheme covers eligible families across Pakistan, including Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Applicants can send their CNIC number to 9999 to check their status.

Under the federal package, many eligible families are expected to receive Rs13,000 in financial assistance. Payments are verified through national databases such as BISP and NADRA before approval.

How to check Rs13,000 payment online

Those applying under the Prime Minister’s programme can also check their status through the official portal.

Applicants need to:

• Visit pmrrp.nitb.gov.pk

• Enter their 13-digit CNIC number without dashes

• Submit the form

• Wait for the verification result

If approved, the system will display payment details or further instructions.

Authorities have advised citizens to use only official channels. Each family can submit only one application. People have also been warned not to pay any agent or middleman, as the verification process is fully digital.

Who can qualify

Families with low incomes, daily wage workers, widows, guardians of orphans and individuals already registered with BISP may fall within the eligibility criteria. Those with high government salaries, strong tax records or significant business assets are unlikely to qualify.

With prices of essential food items rising, many households are under pressure. Officials say the relief programmes are designed to ease that burden and help families manage kitchen expenses during Ramzan.

By introducing online verification and SMS services, the government hopes to ensure that assistance reaches deserving families in a fair and organised manner across the country.
