Islamabad’s cashless Ramzan sasta bazaar: where, when to shop

A cashless Ramzan Sasta Bazaar has been inaugurated in Islamabad’s G-6 Aabpara. This bazaar is offering the citizens essential items such as vegetables, fruits, and other commodities at subsidised rates during the holy month.

Federal Interior Minister and Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi visited the market to inspect the stalls. There, he checked the quality and prices of goods on display.

During his visit, he directed that rate lists be displayed prominently at every stall and called for improvements in cleanliness and security arrangements within the bazaar.

He also interacted with the citizens, asking about the quality and cost of items. Some visitors raised concerns about vendors not following official pricing.

In response, Minister Naqvi instructed stall owners to clearly display both the official market rate and their own prices.

He asked them to write and display prices clearly so the public can see the official market rate and their rate.

He further stressed that providing affordable and high-quality essentials to the public remains the government’s top priority.

He also warned that negligence in delivering relief will not be tolerated.

The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad briefed the minister on the arrangements. He noted that several private companies have also established stalls in the G-6 Ramzan Bazaar.

The market will operate daily from 9 AM to 4 PM. Additionally, a special monitoring mechanism has been activated to ensure that all items are sold strictly according to official rates.

The visit was also attended by the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, the Deputy Commissioner, the DG Enforcement, the Assistant Commissioner, and other officials.
