Another local holiday has been announced in Rawalpindi for tomorrow, April 11 2026, on Saturday. The announcement was made today, ahead of the peace talks between the United States (US) and Iran, which are set to be held in Islamabad from April 10 to 11.
An official notification has been issued in this regard as well.

Before this, the Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi had released an official notification of two day holiday, on April 9 and 10, 2026, in Rawalpindi.
As per the notification released by the DC office of Rawalpindi, DC Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema announced the holiday on April 9 and 10. These holidays were within the jurisdiction of the Rawalpindi district.
Islamabad holiday
In view of the US Iran peace talks, a two day holiday has been announced in Islamabad on April 9 and 10. On Thursday and Friday of the ongoing week.
According to the notification, there will be a two-day holiday within the revenue limits of the Islamabad Capital Territory.
However, essential services will remain operational. These include:
- MCI
- CDA
- ICT Administration
- ICT Police
- IESCO
- SNGPL
Additionally, the notification stated that hospital citizens are advised to plan their activities accordingly.
The Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, invited the leaders of the US and Iran to Islamabad for negotiations after the ceasefire was announced by him on April 8.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took to the social media platform X to announce the ceasefire.
“I warmly welcome the sagacious gesture and extend deepest gratitude to the leadership of both the countries and invite their delegations to Islamabad on Friday, 10th April 2026, to further negotiate for a conclusive agreement to settle all disputes,” the PM said.
PM Shehbaz and Field Marshal (FM) Syed Asim Munir have played a vital role in the diplomatic efforts to attain the ceasefire between the states.
