Rawalpindi police recover stolen bikes and jewellery

The Rawalpindi police have arrested several suspects today in separate operations across the district and recovered stolen property, including jewellery worth Rs15 million, cash, and bikes.

According to the police, the jewellery and Rs1,662,000 in cash were recovered from suspects arrested during a police encounter.

Officials said the suspects had opened fire on police within the limits of the Race Course area about a month ago. During the shootout, two alleged robbers were arrested with injuries.

Police said the suspects later confessed to their involvement in several criminal incidents during interrogation. Laptops, watches, weapons, and a motorcycle were also recovered from their possession.

Other cases

In another operation on Friday, Rawalpindi police arrested four members of three gangs involved in dacoity, motorcycle theft, and other crimes in different parts of the city.

A police spokesperson said that Ratta Amral police arrested two members of a gang and recovered four stolen motorcycles along with Rs5,000 in cash. In another operation, New Town police detained one suspect and recovered a stolen mobile phone and Rs32,000, which police said was earned by selling stolen phones.

Meanwhile, Chakri police arrested another suspect and recovered four stolen motorcycles from his possession.

Overall, police said eight stolen or snatched motorcycles, mobile phones, and Rs37,000 in cash were recovered during the operations.

Cases registered

Police officials said cases have been registered against all arrested suspects. They added that the suspects would be presented before the court.

The police said the operations were part of ongoing efforts to lessen street crimes and theft in Rawalpindi. Authorities have urged citizens to report suspicious activity and cooperate with law enforcement to help improve public safety across the district.
