A police officer on Thursday opened fire on his family in the Tench Bhata area of Rawalpindi.
According to Daily Jang, the police have said that four people were injured in the firing, including a girl, while the accused police officer escaped.
According to the police, the injured victims include the police officer’s wife, mother-in-law and niece.
The accused police officer is posted at the Gawal Mandi police station, while the reason for the firing has been stated to be a domestic dispute.
The police have initiated the investigation and are looking for the accused policeman
Lahore’s DSP family murder case
A similar case took place in Lahore earlier, where a senior police officer known to be a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) was accused of killing his wife and daughter in cold blood.
According to police investigators, DSP Usman Haider shot his wife and daughter with a 9mm pistol on December 2025 at Lahore Ring Road.
Police said the suspect took his wife and daughter out for dinner earlier in the evening, and they ate at a restaurant near the airport. Investigators said that around 11 pm, the DSP allegedly shot them while they were travelling in a government vehicle.
Usman Haider has been taken into custody, and his DNA samples have been collected, police said. Efforts are underway to recover the victims’ mobile phones and the weapon used in the crime.
