Reality Show ‘Big Boss’ Studio Sealed

Reality show big boss studio closed

WEB DESK: ‘Big Boss’, the reality show moved outside the house Tuesday night as Karnataka government authorities sealed off Jollywood Studios and Adventures in Bidadi, Ramanagara district, leading to an abrupt shutdown of Big Boss Kannada Season 12.

All contestants have been escorted out and are now staying at the nearby Eagleton Resort.

The drastic action came after the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) issued an immediate closure order for the studio, citing “non-compliance with laws and operating without permissions.”

Sources reveal the production, hosted by superstar Kichcha Sudeep, lacked essential permissions under the Water and Air Acts, as confirmed by State Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre.

The Minister emphasized that “No one is above the law” and that the violations continued despite repeated notices since March 2024.

The studio, built on a lavish 35-acre plot, housed the Rs 5 crore ‘palace-like’ set, which has now been officially locked. The operation, supervised by Ramanagara Tahsildar Tejaswini, has sent over 700 staff members, including technicians who worked in continuous shifts, home.

Minister Khandre also pointed out that the continued operation of the studio and an associated amusement park violated Supreme Court and National Green Tribunal (NGT) orders. The KSPCB’s order specifically invoked Section 31 (A) of the Air Act, even directing the disconnection of the studio’s power supply, which was allegedly illegal.

Organizers have shifted the contestants to the Eagleton Resort while they figure out the future of the recently launched season. The show’s producers now have the option to approach the court, but for now, the Big Boss house is silent, a stark symbol of regulatory authority taking precedence over reality TV.
