Reopening date announced for Punjab schools

The Punjab Minister of Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat, has made an important announcement regarding the reopening date of schools in the province on Wednesday.

On his social media platform X’s account, the minister announced that the schools will reopen from April 1, 2026.

Prior to this, the Education Minister announced on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, that school holidays are not being extended as of now.

He further asked everyone to avoid fake news.

Sindh school holiday

In addition to this, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced that the Sindh government is taking important steps to secure fuel reserves and save energy.

Provincial Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon said that the decisions related to schools will be taken after seeing the situation.

He further said that to save fuel, a ‘work from home’ policy will be adopted every Friday.

The senior minister has also requested the private sector to allow their employees to work from home wherever possible so that traffic and fuel consumption on the roads are reduced.

Sindh considering smart lockdown: Nasir Hussain Shah

Nasir Hussain Shah, the Provincial Minister of Sindh for Energy, said that the Sindh government is considering the option of imposing a smart lockdown in the province.

He said this while he was speaking to the media. He said that daily meetings are being held to review the current situation.

The minister also said that the fuel quota for government vehicles has already been reduced by 60 per cent.
