Resham a Pakistani actress has firmly responded to recent criticism around her charitable langar initiative. She has pointed out that the backlash she has faced is driven by jealousy and not any other type of concern.

The controversy began when the veteran actress Deedar made daunting allegations against Resham. She reckoned that Resham harms the lives of people around her.
During a recent television appearance Resham seemed to give a reply to this criticism. She did not take any names however she said that the criticism is due to people’s envy of her and not any real reason and she dismissed the criticism.
Resham referred to her philanthropic efforts and said that her langar is vital for some people. She said that she provides free meals to those in need and for some individuals this has become a source of resentment.
She suggested that critics are unable to match the financial or personal commitment required for such initiatives, and therefore respond with negativity instead of support.
The actress also questioned the credibility and identity of those criticising her, implying that some individuals lack independent achievements and are only recognised because of their family backgrounds.
She described this as an unfortunate reality within the industry.
