Rising Middle East tension risk spreading to other countries: Zardari

President Asif Ali Zardari has warned that the rising tensions in the Middle East pose a serious threat to global peace and stability. He said that the continuing conflict in the region could spread to other countries if not addressed urgently.

In a statement, the President expressed sorrow over the killing of two Pakistanis in a missile crash in Dubai, and called for de-escalation amid rising tensions in the Middle East. The President expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extended sympathies to the bereaved families.

The president emphasised that disputes should be resolved through diplomacy, dialogue and tolerance, urging the international community to take immediate steps to reduce tensions.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed grief over the deaths of the two Pakistani nationals in the missile crash in Dubai.

He said Pakistan’s diplomatic mission in the United Arab Emirates is in constant contact with the relevant authorities regarding the incident.

The prime minister directed officials to provide all possible assistance to the affected families and to facilitate the return of the victims’ bodies to Pakistan. He added that the government stands with the bereaved families during this difficult time and will ensure full support.

It is worth mentioning here that two Pakistanis were killed in Dubai after drone and missile attacks in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

On Saturday, a Pakistani driver was killed when “debris from an aerial interception” fell onto a vehicle.

The Pakistan Embassy in the UAE confirmed in a post on X, saying, “We are profoundly saddened to confirm that a Pakistani national lost his life yesterday in Dubai’s Al Barsha area due to falling debris following the interception of an incoming missile.”

“Our Consulate General in Dubai is in direct contact with local authorities to assist the family and facilitate the repatriation process as quickly as possible. In this hour of grief, we share in the family’s pain and offer our most sincere prayers”, the embassy added.
