Riz Ahmed expresses interest in working with Mahira Khan

Oscar-winning Hollywood actor Riz Ahmed is all ready and open to working with Pakistani superstar Mahira Khan.

During an interview on BBC Radio, Haroon Rashid asked him why he has not done anything with Mahira, adding that they would look great.

Ahmed replied, “I am ready, I am here. Let’s make this happen. Inshallah.”

Posting this chunk of the interview, Haroon wrote, “A romantic drama starring Riz Ahmed and Mahira Khan… Who’s watching?” in a caption.

Who is Riz Ahmed?

Riz Ahmed is half-Pakistani, as his parents migrated from Karachi to the United Kingdom before he was born. Because of this background, he is fluent in Urdu and English.

The actor has starred in major Hollywood films and has become one of the industry’s most acclaimed performers.

In 2017,  Ahmed made history by becoming the first male actor of Asian descent to win an Emmy for acting. In 2021, he achieved another milestone by being the first Muslim nominated for Best Actor for his role in the movie, Sound of Metal.

The following year, he won an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film for The Long Goodbye in 2022.

The 43-year-old actor is married to Fatima Farheen Mirza, who is an American novelist.

Mahira Khan’s new movie

The recent movie Aag Lagay Basti Mein, starring Mahira Khan, is currently in theaters.

The movie premiered in cinemas on March 21, 2026.

The movie features an ensemble cast including Fahad Mustafa, Javed Sheikh, Tabish Hashmi, Salahuddin Tunio, Ali Abdullah, and Samra Shehzadi.
