WEB DESK: Iconic Hollywood director and actor Rob Reiner, the mastermind behind the 1980s classic “This Is Spinal Tap,” was found dead along with his wife at his residence.
Two people were found dead at the Los Angeles home of actor-director-producer Rob Reiner, with law enforcement officials investigating the circumstances in an apparent homicide, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement on Sunday.
Sources told the media outlet that the two suffered lacerations consistent with a knife.
However, the LAPD gave no details about the identities of the two deceased individuals. But a Los Angeles Fire Department official said earlier that a 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman were found dead at a home in west Los Angeles at an address that public records linked to Reiner.
Reiner, 78, co-starred in the 1970s hit CBS television comedy “All in the Family” and directed several well-known movies, including “The Princess Bride,” “This is Spinal Tap,” “When Harry Met Sally,” “Stand by Me” and “The American President.”
Jeff Garcia passes away at 41
Earlier, renowned voice actor and comedian Jeffrey Garcia, known for voicing Sheen Estevez in Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, has died, following a string of serious health complications.
Family members confirmed that Garcia passed away early Wednesday morning at age 48 after being taken off life support at a Southern California hospital.
Sources told an international media outlet that Garcia had faced multiple medical crises over the past several months.
In the spring, he reportedly suffered a brain aneurysm that led to a fall and head injury, from which he initially recovered.
More recently, he is said to have suffered a stroke, and sources claim he had cancelled multiple stand-up shows because he wasn’t feeling well.
Just weeks ago, Garcia was hospitalized around November 20 with pneumonia.
He was discharged after a brief stay, but his health took another turn this week.
According to the outlet, Garcia was admitted Monday with breathing problems and on Tuesday his lung collapsed.
