The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), in collaboration with the Pakistan Banks Association (PBA), has launched the Pasban Remittance Rewards Scheme for Pakistanis receiving money from abroad through legal financial channels, with annual prizes worth Rs16 billion.
Under the scheme, prize draws will be held every year, with participating banks covering all associated expenses from their own resources, ensuring no financial burden on the national exchequer.
Key eligibility condition
The most important requirement for eligibility is that recipients must receive remittances equivalent to at least $100 in each month of a three-month quarter into the same eligible bank account.
Recipients who receive a large amount in one month but fail to receive the minimum required amount in the other two months will not qualify for the quarterly lucky draw.
No application, registration, fee, SMS or app download is required to participate. Entries will be generated automatically through OneLink, with each eligible remittance amount rounded to the nearest $100 equivalent. There is no specified limit on the number of entries.
Important dates and prize distribution
The scheme took effect on October 1, 2026. The first qualifying quarter will run from October 1 to December 31, 2026, and remittances received before October 1 will not be counted.
The first lucky draw is scheduled for January 15, 2027. Winners will receive their prize money in Pakistani rupees in their bank accounts by the 21st of the draw month, after deduction of applicable withholding tax.
The regional allocation of prizes is as follows:
-
Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries: 50%
-
United Kingdom: 15%
-
Europe: 15%
-
North America: 10%
-
Other countries: 10%
The first prize will be open equally to eligible recipients from all regions.
Which transactions are excluded?
Cash remittances collected over the counter, Roshan Digital Accounts, foreign currency accounts, commercial and business accounts, trade and property payments, and cancelled or fraudulent transactions are excluded from the scheme. Employees of the relevant institutions and participating banks are also ineligible.
Banking authorities have advised the public not to pay anyone claiming to facilitate participation or release prize money. Recipients should keep their identification details and contact numbers updated with their banks and never share their one-time passwords (OTPs), PINs or banking passwords with anyone.
Customers have also been advised to contact their banks immediately if they encounter any security concerns.
