Saba Hameed breaks silence over Meesha Shafi and Ali Zafar case

Recently, Saba Hameed, the mother of Meesha Shafi, has been attending court hearings on behalf of her daughter, who is presently in Canada over her case against Ali Zafar.

Saba Hameed addressed reporters outside the courthouse. She stated, “Listen, I cannot disclose much regarding the case at this moment as the verdict will be revealed soon.”

“However, we have been fighting this battle for eight years, and we refuse to accept defeat in this matter. And how can one engage in conversation with someone who lacks respect for women?”, she added further.

While she was speaking to the media, Ali Zafar and his spouse, Ayesha Fazli, were seen exiting the court premises and departing in their vehicle.

Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi harassment case

Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi are two well-known Pakistani singers who became involved in a major controversy after Meesha Shafi accused him of harassment in April 2018.

Ali Zafar and his family denied the allegations, saying that the claims were fabricated to ruin the singer’s reputation.

It is important to note that the two been close friends since their college years and were often seen together at social events. They also collaborated on Ali Zafar’s song “Chal Dil Mere.”

However, for the last eight years, both have been entangled in prolonged legal disputes because of the harassment case, which is still under judicial consideration.

Meesha Shafi asks court to dismiss defamation suit

Singer Meesha Shafi, on Wednesday filed a request with a Lahore court to dismiss the defamation lawsuit brought against her by Ali Zafar.

In her concluding arguments, her attorney, Saqib Jilani, said that there was no substantial evidence to back his claims of defamation.

He further noted that the singer had submitted evidence regarding several alleged incidents of harassment and had consistently upheld her initial statements.
