Former Pakistani cricketer and Captain, Wasim Akram, praised the Punjab government and Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, for organising safe Basant 2026. He praised all the arrangements made by the Punjab government to make Basant 2026 successful.
In his video message, Wasim Akram said that he saw the pictures of Lahore and the city looks beautiful. He recalled his childhood memories of celebrating Basant in the city. He added that he understands how visitors from Lahore and other cities must be feeling during the festival.
Wasim Akram also congratulated the Punjab government and especially CM Maryam Nawaz for arranging the beautiful event. He further said that the security arrangements for the event are just perfect. The former captain urged citizens to follow the guidelines issued by the Punjab government.
He requested citizens to enjoy Basant carefully so that the event can continue to be celebrated every year.
Wasim Akram also showed his willingness to come to Lahore to celebrate Basant, but he said he is leaving for Sri Lanka due to World Cup commitments.
