Safe city cameras prove successful across Punjab
Earlier, the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) successfully traced and arrested suspects linked to several robbery incidents in Hasan Abdal, utilising its sophisticated surveillance systems and coordinated efforts.
A spokesperson for the PSCA reported that the suspects were attempting to escape from Islamabad towards Taxila after executing the robberies, frequently changing their vehicle’s registration number in an effort to avoid capture.
In February, the Inspector General (IG) of Punjab Police was ordered to tighten security across the province due to the worsening national security situation.
Police officials said security would be increased at mosques, imambargahs, shrines, markets and other sensitive locations.
Personnel deployed at inter-provincial border checkpoints and key installations were told to remain on high alert.
The Inspector General further stressed the need to improve protection for Chinese nationals, Sikh pilgrims and other foreign visitors.
