Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra launch date: see latest update

Fresh rumours about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra are drawing attention as the expected time of its launch nears.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra launch date

Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S26 Ultra between late January and early February 2026, following its usual early-year launch cycle.

A global “Unpacked” event is expected in the middle of January.

Indian pre-orders are opening within 24 hours and shipping starting in the last week of January, according to sources.

Leaks hint at updates in colours, design, and build materials.

New leaks from tipster Ice Universe suggest the Galaxy S26 Ultra may drop its titanium frame in favour of aluminium.

The phone could be available in Black Shadow, White Shadow, Galactic Blue, and Ultraviolet.

None of these is associated with titanium. Aluminium may also help with better heat management.

Reports indicate Samsung may increase wired charging on the S26 Ultra from 45W to 60W.

Internal tests reportedly show the phone charging from 0 per cent to 75 per cent in just 30 minutes.

However, real-world speeds could vary.

This would be Samsung’s biggest charging upgrade in years.

This will help it compete with rivals like OnePlus, Oppo, Xiaomi, and Honor, which support faster charging.

The 60W charging may be limited to the Ultra model, with the Galaxy S26 Plus likely staying at 45W and the standard S26 at 25W.

Reports from WinFuture suggest the charging boost may be limited to the Ultra model.

The Galaxy S26 Plus could remain at 45W, and the standard Galaxy S26 may stay at 25W.

By reserving the 60W upgrade for the top-tier model, Samsung seems to encourage users to choose the more expensive Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Earlier reports from the German site WinFuture suggested that charging speeds would vary across the Galaxy S26 series.

The Galaxy S26 Plus may keep 45W charging, while the standard Galaxy S26 could remain at 25W.
