Actress Sanam Saeed has made a gorgeous debut at the Cannes Film Festival 2026.
Here is a complete look at her desi attire custom-made by Hussain Rehar:
Not only did Sanam Saeed wear a full desi outfit, but she also paired it with traditional desi jewellery, including a bindi (forehead adornment), representing Pakistani culture at the Cannes Film Festival 2026.
It is pertinent to mention that she has been named an inaugural honoree of Us Studios’ “South Asian Women Excellence in Cinema & Global Art” initiative, which aims to recognise the significant contributions of women in cinema and creative arts, according to media reports.
Earlier, Sanam said that she would be paying tribute to legendary Shamim Ara, whose “life doesn’t follow the usual arc of rise, fall, and fade”, which “was something rare, rise, dominance, reinvention, legacy”.
“In a male-dominated industry, Begum Shamim Ara quietly broke the biggest boundaries, opening doors for women behind the camera,” Sanam said in a video clip posted on her official Instagram page ahead of her Cannes appearance.
Pakistani fashion designer Hussain Rehar has also made his debut at Cannes this year with a special showcase of his latest collection titled Lahore A Knot in South Asia’s Loom.
The invite-only exhibition is scheduled to take place at Château St George alongside one of the world’s biggest entertainment and fashion events.
Sharing details of the showcase on Instagram, Rehar described the collection as “a decolonisation of fashion’s origin story told through Lahore, craftsmanship and South Asian authorship.”
According to the designer, this marks the first time a Pakistani fashion label will present its work alongside internationally renowned fashion houses, including Gucci and Roberto Cavalli.
