Veteran Pakistani actress and director Sangeeta has revealed that she is in her third marriage and has been living with film industry distributor Tariq Mendro for the past 14 years.
During a recent television programme, Sangeeta spoke publicly about her current marriage for the first time in detail. She also discussed some difficult experiences from her previous marriages.
Sangeeta said her first marriage was to Humayun Qureshi, while her second marriage was to Naveed Akbar. Both marriages eventually ended. She later married Tariq Mendro for the third time.
According to the actress, she felt lonely after her daughters got married. It was during this period that Tariq Mendro proposed marriage to her several times.
Sangeeta said she realised that as a person grows older, having a companion becomes important, which eventually led her to decide to marry again.
Speaking about the secret behind her successful marriage, Sangeeta said her current husband does not use abusive language, raise his hand against her or argue unnecessarily. She added that whenever she becomes angry, her husband simply leaves the room quietly.
The actress said this understanding and peaceful approach has helped them maintain a stable relationship over the years.
Recently, Sangeeta, appearing in a TV show, had commented that Meera and Saud had a ‘relationship’ in their younger days and on one occasion she literally had to rescue Saud from the “clutches” of Meera during a shooting of the movie.
The interview went viral, due to which Saud’s wife Javeria came to the rescue of her husband and called Sangeeta an attention seeker for making such a statement.
The rumoured affair question once again rose when the couple attended the Lux Style Awards 2025 held in Karachi. Javeria said that it’s been 20 years since they got married and they have grown-up children. She said she does not know what Sangeeta wanted to achieve by digging up old graves.
Meanwhile, Saud denied that he ever had an affair with Meera and said that there was no truth to such rumours.
Javeria and Saud have been together for twenty years and are parents to two children. He was dominating the film industry when they got married, while Javeria was active on television. The two have always backed each other’s careers, and their marriage has remained strong and successful; they are regarded as one of the strongest couples.
