Zulfiqar Khosa was first elected as a member of the Punjab Assembly in 1962. He was in the Muslim League for most of his life.

He held the positions of provincial minister, advisor, senator, and governor of Punjab several times. He joined the PTI before the 2018 elections.

Zulfiqar Khosa was also the president of the Punjab Muslim League-N during Nawaz Sharif’s era.
