The Benazir Income Support Programme has started a scholarship program to support children from low income families and help them continue their education. The program is designed for children whose mothers are already registered with BISP. This programme aims to reduce financial pressure on poor families and encourage children to stay in school.
To process and apply for the scholarship, parents must visit the nearest BISP office with their child’s NADRA issued B-Form and the mobile number registered with BISP. The office will provide an enrolment slip.
Parents then need to take the slip to the child’s school to fill in the left out required information. After that, the completed form must be submitted back to the BISP center for processing. The form must include details such as the student’s class, section, teacher’s contact information, and other necessary details.
Students must also meet certain conditions to remain eligible. They need to maintain at least 70% attendance in school. If a child changes schools, BISP must be informed immediately.
The scholarship is available for primary, secondary, and higher secondary students within specific age limits:
1). Primary level: 4 to 12 years,
2). Secondary level: 8 to 18 years,
3). Higher secondary level: 13 to 22 years
The scholarship money is given every three months. Boys and girls receive different amounts depending on their education level.
For boys, Primary: Rs2,500, Secondary: Rs3,500, and Higher Secondary: Rs4,500
For girls, Primary: Rs3,000, Secondary: Rs4,000, and Higher Secondary: Rs5,000
