Authorities have announced that all government and private schools in the Kashmir Division will remain closed until March 7, 2026, according to reports on Tuesday.
The decision comes in view of recent protests in Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Relevant authorities have also issued a formal instruction in this regard.

Officials have said that the step has been taken to make sure of the safety and convenience of students under the current situation.
They added that the situation is being closely monitored. A new schedule will be announced if conditions improve.
District and tehsil administrations have been directed to ensure full implementation of the order.
Private school administrations have also been instructed to follow the decision.
Authorities have warned that legal action may be taken in case if there is any violation.
Parents and students have also been advised not to believe in any unverified information and to follow official sources for correct updates.
According to the Education Department, other arrangements are being considered in order to maintain educational activities. This may include online classes.
Further instructions and future plans will be announced after reviewing the situation.
Govt may extend Eid ul Fitr holiday 2026
The Bangladesh government is thinking about extending the upcoming public holiday for Eid ul Fitr 2026 according to Bangladeshi media.
No final decision has been made yet, according to the reports. A source told the Bengali language daily newspaper published from Dhaka, Prothom Alo, that the cabinet may decide at its next meeting.
Eid ul Fitr may fall on March 21, depending on the moon sighting. Based on this date, the Ministry of Public Administration has already fixed a five-day holiday. The holiday is scheduled from March 19 to March 23.
Under this plan, March 21 will be the general holiday for Eid ul Fitr. The government has also declared March 19 and 20, before Eid, and March 22 and 23, after Eid, as holidays by executive order, according to the reports.
