According to the post by the DTE Punjab DSD on their official account on X (previously known as Twitter), a notification has been issued by the School Education Department on February 16, 2026.

The notification states that all public and private educational institutions across the province will strictly follow changed schedules during the fasting month.

The changes are intended to facilitate students and staff who will be observing the fast.

New schedule for single-shift schools

Under the new arrangements, single-shift schools will operate from 8:30am to 1:00pm from Monday to Thursday.

On Fridays, classes will end earlier, with schools closing at 12:30pm.

The notification makes clear that these timings will apply throughout Ramadan.

Adjustments for double-shift schools

For schools operating in two shifts, separate timings have been set for morning and afternoon sessions.

From Monday to Thursday, the morning shift will run from 8:30am to 12:30pm. The evening shift will begin at 1:00pm and continue until 4:00pm.

On Fridays, the second shift will operate from 2:30pm to 5:00pm.

Girls’ schools to start earlier

The department has also stated that girls’ schools will open and close 15 minutes earlier than the scheduled times announced for other institutions.

No other changes to the academic calendar were mentioned in the notification.

Ramzan court timings

The Federal Constitutional Court has issued a notification regarding new timings for the holy month of Ramzan.

The notification was released after approval by the Chief Justice. It outlines revised working hours for court offices in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta.

Revised schedule during Ramzan

According to the notice, court offices will operate from 9:00am to 2:00pm, Monday to Thursday.

On Fridays and Saturdays, offices will close earlier, with working hours set from 9:00am to 12:30pm.

The court said the revised timings will remain in place for the entire month of Ramadan.

Ramadan is expected to begin in the coming weeks, subject to the sighting of the moon.

During the month, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset, and public routines, including school and office hours, are often adjusted across the country.
