More than 30,000 educational institutions across Punjab have been connected to the Safe City system to enhance security monitoring.

Schools, colleges, and universities will now have their security monitored with a single click.

Under the initiative, representatives of educational institutions will update their security status on a safety app three times a day.

A Virtual Center for Educational Security has also been activated for both public and private institutions.

As part of the project, 30,000 institutions along with around 130,000 teachers and security staff have been registered. In case of any threat or emergency, instant alerts will be issued through the system.

Security cameras at educational institutions are being linked to the Safe City system and the installation of Safe City panic buttons on campuses has entered its final stages.

Authorities say the virtual security center will play a key role to ensure the safety and protection of educational institutions across the province.
