The government has announced a big relief for students and notified the new school schedule for the holy month of Ramzan 2026.
According to the notification, the Punjab Government, through the School Education Department, has announced a revised schedule for all educational institutions during Ramadan, effective from 16 February.
Single-shift schools
- Monday to Thursday: 8:30 am – 1:00 pm
- Friday: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm
Double-shift schools
- Monday to Thursday
- Morning shift: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm
- Evening shift: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
- Friday: 2:30 pm – 5:00 pm (single session for the entire school)
Girls’ schools
All timings for girls’ institutions will be 15 minutes earlier than the schedule.
This new timetable will remain in effect throughout Ramadan to provide relief for fasting students and teachers.
Govt issues revised office timings for Ramzan 2026
Earlier, the Government of Sindh issued an official schedule for the revised office hours for the Holy month of Ramzan 2026 with an aim to facilitate the employees to celebrate the month of fasting.
According to a notification approved by the Chief Secretary, all the government offices in the province will from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm from Monday to Thursday.
On Fridays offices will close earlie,r operating from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in order for staff members to concentrate on religious obligations during the sacred month.
The new timings will apply to all provincial departments, autonomous institutions and private organisations and local councils that work under administrative jurisdiction of Sindh.
Authorities have issued instructions to heads of departments and administrative officers to ensure strict compliance with the revised schedule for uninterrupted provision of necessary social services to the people during Ramzan.
Ramzan court timings
The Federal Constitutional Court earlier issued a notification regarding new timings for the holy month of Ramzan.
The notification was released after approval by the Chief Justice. It outlines revised working hours for court offices in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta.
Revised schedule during Ramzan
According to the notice, court offices will operate from 9:00am to 2:00pm, Monday to Thursday.
On Fridays and Saturdays, offices will close earlier, with working hours set from 9:00am to 12:30pm.
The court said the revised timings will remain in place for the entire month of Ramadan.
Ramadan is expected to begin in the coming weeks, subject to the sighting of the moon.
During the month, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset, and public routines, including school and office hours, are often adjusted across the country.
