Applications for the Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls 2026-27 have opened, offering Pakistani women and girls an opportunity to pursue higher education with financial support from the Scottish Government and the British Council Pakistan.
The scholarship programme is aimed at supporting eligible female students seeking admission to four-year bachelor’s degree programmes or Master’s/MPhil programmes of up to two years at HEC recognised universities across Pakistan.
The initiative seeks to improve access to higher education for Pakistani women and girls and support them in pursuing academic and professional opportunities.

Earlier, the Government of Pakistan launched a new programme with the United Nations, the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) that can help to create better job opportunities.
The programme will support 20,000 people who are working in the health and care sector. This programme will help them improve their skills, find better jobs and access social protection.
Phases of the programme
The first phase of the programme will run from July 2026 to July 2027. During this period, the focus will be on improving the skills of 20,000 health and care workers.
