The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has issued an urgent public warning alerting investors about fake online trading platforms and WhatsApp groups posing as legitimate investment services.
According to the SECP, scammers are misusing the names of licensed brokers, including Topline Securities, and using pictures of celebrities to promote fraudulent apps and platforms such as “TSLWEA / TSL WEALTH.”
The regulator has clarified that these platforms are not licensed by SECP and warned that investors using them “risk total financial loss.”
The SECP has urged the public to only invest through SECP-licensed brokers and to verify the license status of any broker or platform through official SECP channels before transferring funds or sharing personal information.
The commission also advised citizens to be cautious of unsolicited investment offers made via WhatsApp groups, social media, or messaging apps, especially those promising guaranteed or unusually high returns.
