Web desk: The district administration has imposed Section 144 in Islamabad the federal capital.
Under this order, no protests, gatherings, or public assemblies are allowed.
Officials warned that the law will be enforced immediately if anyone takes part in illegal activities. Citizens have been urged not to participate in any activities that violate the law.
The administration said the move has been taken to maintain public order and ensure safety in the city.
What is Section 144?
Section 144 is a law in Pakistan that allows district authorities to stop four or more people from gathering in public places for a limited time.
It is used to maintain peace and safety during emergencies or unrest. It can also include bans on weapons and other public activities.
In the past as well, in October 2025, Section 144 was imposed in Rawalpindi to maintain law and order.
City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani warned that violent acts carried out under the guise of protests would not be tolerated.
Police personnel were deployed at all key locations. And Safe City cameras and other surveillance systems were being used for continuous monitoring.
Mobile patrols, Dolphin Force, and Elite Force teams were also conducting regular rounds across the city for security.
