Web desk: Murree administration has imposed Section 144 for December 25 and New Year’s Eve to ensure law and order and smooth traffic flow in the hill station on Tuesday.
The Deputy Commissioner of Murree has issued an official notification detailing the restrictions.
Section 144
The administration has issued a notification imposing Section 144 on Murree, including Mall Road and GPO Chowk.
Entry will be prohibited for all visitors except families from December 24 to 26. In addition to this, again from December 30 to January 1.
The restrictions have been put in place due to security concerns during Christmas, Quaid-e-Azam Day, and New Year celebrations.
Authorities have warned that any violation will be dealt with according to Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

The administration stated that the move comes due to the overcrowding, mismanagement, and security concerns.
An unusually large number of tourists is expected during this period. Many tourists and families visit during the festive seasons.
During this period, firing in the air, fireworks, unnecessary gatherings, and road obstructions will be strictly prohibited.
The administration has warned that violators of Section 144 will face legal action. It includes fines and arrests.
Previously, the district administration of Rawalpindi once again extended the enforcement of Section 144, placing restrictions on public activities until December 24.
Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, Hassan Waqar Cheema, issued an official notification regarding this.
Further, it was stated that the extension has been implemented to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of the public throughout the district.
As per the renewed restrictions, all forms of public gatherings are completely prohibited. It includes rallies, processions, and demonstrations.
