Web desk: Following Islamabad, Section 144 has also been imposed in Rawalpindi. Under this order, all public gatherings, rallies, protests, displays of weapons, and double riding on vehicles are strictly prohibited. The order is in effect for three days.
According to the notification issued by the Rawalpindi District Administration, the restriction applies to gatherings of five or more people.
Officials said the measure has been taken to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.
The administration warned that any illegal activity will be dealt with immediately under the law. Violators of Section 144 will face strict action, and law enforcement agencies will intervene promptly.
Authorities emphasised that maintaining peace and protecting citizens is the top priority.
Section 144 prohibits assembling in public places, holding processions, or staging protests. The law is intended to prevent emergency situations or potential violence.
The district administration urged citizens to remain cautious and comply with the restrictions.
Earlier, Section 144 was also enforced in the federal capital, Islamabad. Authorities announced that no rallies, protests, or public gatherings would be allowed. Violators in the capital face strict action, including arrests.
