Section 144 imposed in Murree ahead of New Year's celebrations

WEB DESK: New Year festivities face strict restrictions as Section 144 has been imposed in Murree.

According to the DPO, the move has been taken to provide a peaceful environment for the tourist families.

According to the notification issued, only families will be allowed to enter the Murree Mall road for the next two days.

Bachelor tourists will not be welcomed there, as they will be allowed to visit other places.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, the Punjab Highway Authority has issued an alert on the expected snowfall and rain in Murree and Galyat.

According to the media reports, the Provincial Minister Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharath directed the Highway officials to be on full alert and keep the snow removal machinery active at all times. He further instructed them to sprinkle salt on the highways.

More than 29,000 salt bags have been provided in the salt store till now. Salt camps have been installed at various points, and two central salt camps have been established in Murree.

Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharath says that more than 10 facilitation centres have been established in Murree. This step has been taken in order to provide convenience to tourists and citizens.

However, traffic on the highways of Murree and Galyat will keep on moving without any disruption.
