Security forces foiled an attempted infiltration by 15 terrorists from Afghan territory into Pakistan’s Ghulam Khan sector through a timely operation, killing all the infiltrators, according to sources.
Sources said the armed individuals attempting to cross the border included operatives linked to Commander Mazdagari Marwat and members of the Wazir group. Security forces successfully thwarted the infiltration attempt and killed all the armed men. The incident in the Ghulam Khan sector, according to sources, highlights Pakistan’s concerns over the alleged use of Afghan territory for terrorist activities against Pakistan.
Pakistan has repeatedly maintained that Afghan soil must not be used for terrorism against the country. Security forces have reiterated that any threat to national security will be met with an effective response and that they remain fully prepared to protect the country’s borders.
According to sources, Afghan authorities have also been urged to take effective and concrete measures against terrorist networks and prevent their territory from being used for attacks against Pakistan.
