Pakistan Armed Forces killed between 20 and 22 militants during an ongoing operation under the Brigade and 7th Division, according to a field update released late Tuesday night.
The latest operational report stated that troops recovered nine bodies of militants along with two weapons and shifted them to the Brigade Headquarters. Ground troops and clearance teams also spotted three more bodies in the area during the operation.
Security personnel recovered nine improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and three mortar rounds from a militant hideout and later destroyed them through bomb disposal teams.
According to the report, forces sealed the target area and continued search and clearance activities at several suspected militant centres and hideouts. The operation targeted locations identified as the Minara Mosque centre, Nawal Mosque centre, Abu Hanifa School centre, Chotta Masjid hideout, Abu Bakar Mosque centre, and Qayyum Mosque centre.
Troops also cleared underground bunkers and militant fighting positions located near a main supply route in the area.
The report further said security forces completed the sanitisation of the Bobali Mosque centre, while clearance operations in Bobali village will resume early Tuesday morning.
Officials have not yet released further details regarding the identity of the militants or possible casualties among security personnel.
