ISLAMABAD: Security in the federal capital Islamabad has been beefed up after yesterday’s attack in the Judicial Commission of Pakistan which claimed 12 precious lives and injured several.
Police has been deployed at multiple check posts of the city and vehicles are being checked. Due to the checking traffic jams at several avenues has been reported. The police has urged the public to cooperate with them.
Security has been beefed up at the Islamabad High Court after yesterday’s attack. The security is on high alert and no unauthorised person is allowed to stand outside the IHC premises. NADRA Chowk has been closed for all kind of traffic.
Meanwhile District Judicial Commission will remain closed today. Lawyers, clients and clerks have been directed to not to come to the court today.
The District Bar has announced three-day mourning and one day of strike. Islamabad Bar and Lahore Bar have also announced a three-day strike.
Advocate Zubair Aslam Ghuman had also lost his life in the tragic incident in Islamabad.
Security experts and former military leaders have expressed concerns that the recent series of terrorist attacks could potentially spread to more cities in the next few days and that regional elements and international political objectives could be behind it.
Security officials are keeping a close watch, stepping up patrols and enforcing emergency measures to avert more attacks.
Islamabad Police conducts grand search operation
Islamabad Police conducted grand search and combing operation in different areas of Golra police station. This operation was carried out under the supervision of SP Saddar Zone, in which ladies police also participated.
A detailed briefing was given to the personnel before the operation. During the search, 235 people, 200 houses and 25 shops were checked. During this, 70 motorcycles and 15 vehicles were also checked.
During the search, 47 suspicious persons were transferred to the police station for further examination. The aim of the operation was to prevent crime and maintain law and order in the area.
IG Islamabad has issued orders for grand search operations to root out crime across the district. Citizens are requested to fully cooperate with the police during the checking and immediately report any suspicious activity.
