ISLAMABAD: Senior journalist and well-known social media anchor Raja Matloob Tahir lost his life in a traffic accident on the Srinagar Highway in Islamabad.
Raja Matloob Tahir was a close friend of renowned anchor Waseem Badami, who expressed deep grief over the loss and prayed for his friend on social media.
In a post on X, Waseem Badami wrote that his friend, a lively and kind-hearted person, had passed away in a car accident.
He requested prayers for the departed soul and patience for the bereaved family.
Famous anchor Iqrar-ul-Hassan also shared his grief on X.
He described Raja Matloob as a brother-like friend and prayed for his higher ranks and patience for all.
The tragic incident has plunged the family, journalist community, and the public into deep sorrow.
Funeral prayers offered
Raja Matloob Tahir’s funeral prayers were offered in Sarai Alamgir on Monday at his ancestral village, Puran.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti attended the funeral. Anchors Waseem Badami, Iqrar-ul-Hassan, and Yasir Shami were also present.
Senior journalists Sohail Warraich and Saleem Safi also attended the funeral prayers which were led by Pir Naqeeb-ur-Rehman of Eidgah Wala.
Raja Matloob Tahir is survived by his widow, three daughters, and one son.
He lost his life in a road accident in Islamabad late last night.
The deceased belonged to the nearby village of Puran.
