The PCB medical team is also overseeing his recovery in phases to reduce any risk of complications.
The media report states that Shaheen Shah Afridi’s rehab process is being carried out with care.
Additionally, there is no intention to put him on the field in any hurry.
According to PCB officials, the health and long-term fitness are the board’s top priority.
Shaheen Afridi injury
National One Day International (ODI) team captain Shaheen Shah Afridi started rehabilitation in Lahore recently.
Shaheen Afridi suffered the injury during Brisbane’s narrow win over Adelaide Strikers at the Gabba.
He was fielding at mid-on during the Strikers’ run chase. Shaheen ran after a hard-hit shot and soon felt pain in his right knee.
His movement became limited by the end of the over. He left the field shortly after the doctors examined him and advised further treatment.
After talks with the PCB medical team, it was decided that Shaheen would return home. His BBL journey ended early due to this.
