Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi has been appointed as the brand ambassador of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Champions Cricket League (KPCL), while the league’s official opening ceremony will be held on July 18 at Peshawar Cricket Stadium.
According to the league management, the opening ceremony will begin at 6:00 pm, marking the formal launch of the province’s new cricket league.
Shahid Afridi appeals for strong fan participation
After being appointed as the brand ambassador, Shahid Afridi appealed to cricket fans in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly those in Peshawar, to attend the opening ceremony with their families, encourage emerging young cricketers, and become part of this new cricket initiative in the province.
He said that such activities would play an important role in bringing young talent to the forefront and promoting cricket in the province.

Younis Khan to attend as league commissioner
The KP Champions Cricket League Commissioner and former Pakistan captain Younis Khan will also attend the opening ceremony, along with a large number of former and current Pakistan international cricketers.
Tournament schedule and talent hunt programme to be announced
According to the league management, the official tournament dates will be announced during the opening ceremony.
Information regarding the talent hunt trials to be held across the province, the league’s upcoming activities, and other important plans will also be shared.
Special arrangements for fans and families
The management said that special arrangements have been made for fans attending the opening ceremony, particularly for families.
Free tickets have also been allocated for people wishing to attend the ceremony so that as many cricket fans as possible can be part of this historic occasion.
