On the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, Shakarparian National Park, Lake View Park, and Daman e Koh will be open as family parks from March 20 to 23, 2026, according to reports on Wednesday.
Citizens can visit these parks and enjoy time with their families in a safe and pleasant environment.

Eid ul Fitr dates in Saudi Arabia announced
Saudi Arabia has officially announced that Eid ul Fitr will be celebrated on Friday. The Shawwal crescent moon was not sighted on Wednesday.
Authorities said observations were made across the country, but the moon could not be confirmed anywhere. The public had been asked to try to see the moon and report any verified sightings.
After checking all reports, officials confirmed that the Shawwal moon was not seen.
Therefore, the fasting days of Ramzan will be completed, and Eid ul Fitr will be celebrated on Friday.
Authorities asked people not to rely on unverified moon sighting reports and to follow only official sources.
Punjab government announces Eid holidays
The Punjab government has announced Eid ul Fitr holidays 2026. An official notification said holidays will start from March 19 and continue on March 20 and 21.
There will also be an additional holiday on Sunday, March 22, and Monday, March 23, is Pakistan Day, which is already a holiday. This gives people in the province a five day long holiday.
Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have also announced public holidays for Eid ul Fitr 2026.
The Sindh government has declared March 20 and 21 as public holidays.
Government offices and institutions across the province will remain closed on these two days for the festival.
The KP government has announced a three day holiday from March 19 to March 21. This gives KP employees and citizens one extra day compared to Sindh.
