All licensing services to remain suspended at Shakarparian traffic office tomorrow

Web desk: On Saturday, December 27, all activities related to licensing at the Shakarparian Traffic Office (Murree Road, Faizabad) will remain suspended due to system upgrades.

Previously, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) announced that all licensing-related services at the Traffic Office Shakarparian will be suspended on Friday, December 26, as well.

Now, according to the latest advisory, all activities related to licensing at the Traffic Office Shakarparian will remain suspended on Saturday, December 27.

An ITP official had told APP that no driving licence services will be available at the Shakarparian office throughout the day on Friday due to administrative reasons.

He advised citizens to schedule their visits on alternative days to avoid inconvenience.

For more information or assistance, citizens have been advised to contact the traffic helpline 1915 or the emergency helpline Pucar-15.

Murree Road to get major upgrade

Previously, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) finalised two multi-billion-rupee projects to transform the heavily congested Murree Road corridor from Saddar to Faizabad, one of the busiest roads linking Rawalpindi with Islamabad.

The joint schemes, costing nearly Rs9 billion, include the construction of new service lanes and the complete rehabilitation of the existing carriageway.

RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza said the initiatives were prepared in response to directives from the Punjab government calling for urgent improvement plans for Rawalpindi’s road infrastructure.

“Murree Road has deteriorated badly over the years and needs immediate rehabilitation to provide relief to thousands of daily commuters,” she said.
