The Shawwal moon has been sighted in Pakistan, according to reports on Friday.
The earliest reports of moon sighting in Pakistan have been received from Lahore and Bahawalpur. This means Eid will be celebrated tomorrow, on Saturday, March 21.

Previously, the moon for Eid ul Fitr 2026 had not been sighted in Pakistan. However, some parts in KP announced Eid celebrations for today, Friday.
Eid ul Fitr in Pakistan
According to the latest forecast issued by the Meteorological Department, the chances of seeing the Shawwal moon on March 19 are very low.
According to experts, the birth of the moon and its period of stay on the horizon are so short that it is extremely difficult to see it with the naked eye.
Meteorological Department officials say that the age of the moon and its position are factors that are of fundamental importance for sighting.
Eid ul Fitr announced in parts of KP
Eid ul Fitr has been announced in Mardan for Friday with at least 17 testimonies of moon sighting on Thursday.
Earlier, some parts of Bajaur also announced that they will be celebrating Eid ul Fitr on Friday.
According to the reports, Eid ul Fitr was celebrated on Friday in Tehsil Kakki of Bannu, after 22 moon sighting testimonies were received yesterday.
Bangladesh, Malaysia on Eid moon sighting
Bangladesh and Malaysia have made important announcements regarding the Shawwal moon, on Thursday.
According to the reports, the moon has not been sighted, after which it has been decided to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday, March 21, in both countries.
Similarly, in Bangladesh, after the steps taken for sighting the crescent, no authentic evidence of the sighting of the moon was received.
