As Pakistan gets an invitation to join the Gaza Peace Counsel, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is preparing to meet US President Donald Trump this week in Switzerland on the sidelines of the 56th World Economic Forum in Davos.

There is speculation that Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir may also join the visit.
President Trump is expected to arrive in Switzerland on Tuesday. Sources say both leaders are likely to meet in Davos during the WEF sessions.
Government officials say the meeting is important amid changing global political and economic conditions. The talks are expected to focus on trade, investment, and regional security.
Apart from the Trump meeting, Shehbaz Sharif will hold discussions with other world leaders.
He will also meet heads of international organisations and global business executives.
The prime minister will attend key WEF sessions on sustainable development and climate change.
The delegation is expected to return to Islamabad after the forum concludes.
The Foreign Office said on Sunday that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has received an invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the Gaza Peace Council.
Foreign Office spokesman Tahir Andrabi said Pakistan will stay engaged in global efforts for peace in Gaza. He said Islamabad supports a lasting solution to the Palestine issue under UN resolutions.
The Gaza Peace Council was formed under the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire plan. It will oversee the interim administration of the Gaza Strip.
