Sher Afzal Marwat lashed out at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, mocking Chief Minister Sohail Afridi over what he described as poor performance and rising mismanagement in the province.

Speaking to the media, Marwat said the chief minister of KP can’t run even a primary school. He called for the return of Ali Amin Gandapur to restore order within party affairs, while claiming that Imran Khan is being misinformed and kept away from ground realities.

Marwat said that corruption within government departments has reached alarming levels, claiming that recruitment processes are being influenced by money instead of merit.

He also questioned the delay in cabinet formation, alleging that key ministries are effectively being “sold.” According to him, individuals who secure ministries through financial means would prioritise recovering their investment rather than serving the public.

He termed the current PTI leadership inexperienced and incapable of organising large-scale public gatherings. He also acknowledged that past decisions, including resignations from assemblies and dissolving governments, were major political missteps.

Commenting on the political situation, Marwat said the release of Imran Khan would not be possible without a strong protest movement or a decisive long march. He further warned that Pakistan is facing a war-like scenario, with tensions in the Middle East impacting the country’s economy.

Imran Khan’s release impossible due to his sisters

Afzal Marwat claimed that former Prime Minister Imran Khan cannot be released from jail due to the influence of his sisters.

Marwat said that while Hazrat Yousuf (AS) was blessed with brothers, Imran Khan has sisters and they will not let him come out of (Adiala) jail.

It is important to mention here that workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the proposed “Release Force” aimed at securing the freedom of the party’s founder, calling it ineffective and merely symbolic.

In a series of video statements circulating online, party workers said they had been striving for the release of the PTI founder for the past two years but expressed frustration over what they described as a lack of clear direction from the leadership.

They claimed that the party founder had entrusted responsibility for his release to Sohail Khan Afridi.

However, according to the workers, Afridi has yet to initiate any meaningful public movement.

They added that Afridi had indicated that decisions regarding such efforts would be taken “on the streets” and with public involvement, but no such steps have materialised.

PTI worker Zaheer Abbas said that for the past six months, he had heard repeated announcements from the KP Chief Minister (CM) about taking the issue to the public, but no concrete action had followed.
