Wasim Akram has been appointed as the President of the PSL team Sialkot Stallionz. The official logo of team Sialkot Stallionz has also been unveiled.
According to details, at an event of Alpha Ozy Sports held at a private hotel in Lahore, former captain Muhammad Wasim Akram was formally nominated as the President of Sialkot Stallionz.
Wasim Akram participated in the ceremony online and, while expressing good wishes for the bright future of the team as President, reaffirmed his commitment that he would play every possible role to make Sialkot Stallionz a strong and successful franchise.
During the ceremony, the official logo of Sialkot Stallionz was also brought before the public for the first time.
On this occasion, Sialkot Stallionz’s Head Coach Tim Penn, the team’s co-owners Hamza Majeed and Muhammad Shahid were also present, who reaffirmed their commitment that Sialkot Stallions will play a full role in introducing modern features in the Pakistan Super League, promoting cricket, and further improving the standard of the game.
Furthermore, Chairperson of Alpha Ozy Sports, Sabiha Sultan, expressed her good wishes and announced her commitment that the organization will also take practical steps in the future for the promotion and development of women’s cricket, so that more opportunities can be provided for women’s sports in Pakistan.
The participation of PSL CEO Salman Naseer in the ceremony further enhanced the importance of the event.
He termed this initiative of Sialkot Stallionz a positive and welcome development for the league and Pakistani cricket.
Wasim Akram is one of the world’s most successful fast bowlers. For his great swing he was also nicknamed as the “Sultan of Swing.”
He also captained the National Pakistani cricket team and led them into the finals in the 1999 World Cup. He was also part of the squad that won the 1992 World Cup.
Wasim Akram’s experience will be extremely valuable for Sialkot Stallionz’s first time in PSL.
