A controversy regarding ownership has emerged concerning the newly established Sialkot Stallionz franchise as it prepares for its inaugural season in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11).
A man who identifies himself as the majority owner of the franchise, Mohammad Shahid, has publicly warned that minority partner Hamza Majeed has sold shares without the necessary authorization.
Shahid asserts that he possesses a 76% stake in the team and has reportedly reached out to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and PSL management, requesting their intervention.
He has also suggested the possibility of pursuing legal avenues to protect his claimed ownership rights. The ongoing dispute has sparked speculation on social media regarding the original acquisition of the franchise.
There are allegations that the initial purchase by OZ Developers was designed as a short-term tactic to leverage the team’s market excitement by divesting shares to foreign investors.
Earlier this month, the Australia-based Alpha Sports Group acquired a 75% controlling interest in the franchise, which has significantly changed its ownership dynamics.
Following this transaction, OZ Developers, represented by Hamza Majeed and Kamil Khan, retained a 25% minority stake.
Additionally, there are reports indicating that former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram, who is set to take on the role of the team’s president, may hold approximately 10% of the franchise as part of his leadership agreement, although no official confirmation has been provided.
