Sindh to build new port, AI data centres

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, on Tuesday, has invited Indonesian companies to invest in the province. He shared plans for new development projects. These include the Keti Bandar Port, a new investment centre in Karachi and AI-powered data centres.

Speaking after the Indonesian-Pakistan Investment and Business Forum, the chief minister said Sindh is looking for foreign investment in infrastructure, logistics, renewable energy, information technology, manufacturing and agriculture.

He said that the provincial government plans to build a new deep-sea port at Keti Bandar. He added that the project could create more opportunities for trade, shipping and business.

Murad Ali Shah also said a Sindh International Facilitation Centre will be set up in Karachi to make it easier for investors to do business.

AI-powered data centres

He added that the province also plans to build AI-powered data centres that will run on affordable and sustainable energy.

The chief minister said the Sindh government is working to create a better business environment.

He said this will be done through better governance, improved infrastructure, digital services and support for investors.

Further, he described Sindh as Pakistan’s economic hub. He said Karachi’s ports, industrial areas and financial institutions make the province a good place for local and foreign investment.

Pakistan and Indonesia

During the forum, Murad Ali Shah thanked the Indonesian Consul General and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry for organising the event.

He said Pakistan and Indonesia have a long and friendly relationship. He added that stronger business and investment can further improve ties between the two countries.

Investment opportunities in solar energy

Murad Ali Shah said Sindh has good investment opportunities in solar and wind energy, agriculture, food processing, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, information technology and other industries.

He also spoke about the proposed Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Pakistan and Indonesia.
