The Government of Sindh has announced a public holiday on March 23, 2026, and issued an official notification regarding the same, according to details on Sunday.

The notification stated that the provincial government will observe a holiday across the province to mark Pakistan Day.
According to the notification, all offices and departments of the provincial government, corporations under the Government of Sindh, and local government institutions will also remain closed.
However, the holiday will not apply to offices that are providing essential services to people.
Are Private schools ending their Saturday holiday?
Private schools in Pakistan have reportedly requested that students should no longer have Saturdays off.
They also asked to shorten summer and winter holidays, the reports suggest.
The request was made by Qazi Naeem Anjum, head of Pak Aiwan-e-Taleem for Private Schools.
He suggested summer holidays be reduced to two months and winter holidays to 10 days in January.
He said private schools should have at least 180 teaching days, and ending the Saturday holiday would help complete the syllabus on time.
No official decision has been made yet. The School Education Department said it will review the proposals before taking any action.
Govt announces holiday on Jumat-ul-Wida in Sindh
The Sindh government has announced a public holiday on the occasion of Jumat ul Wida, falling on March 19, Provincial Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah confirmed on Wednesday.
According to the minister, the provincial administration has decided to announce a public holiday for the ease of the citizens to observe religious activities and take part in prayers to observe the last Friday of the month of Ramzan.
Nasir Hussain Shah also came out with the revelation that a major road of Karachi will be named after Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
However, he clarified that there would be no permission given for a rally on Shahrah e Faisal on Jumat ul Wida because of traffic management and security.
