Eid ul Fitr holidays 2026: Sindh, KP announce public holiday schedules

Provincial governments in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have officially announced public holidays for Eid ul Fitr 2026, with differing schedules for each province, according to the latest reports on Tuesday.

Sindh, KP announce public holidays for Eid ul Fitr

The Sindh government has declared March 20 and 21 as public holidays.

According to the official notification, government offices and institutions across the province will remain closed on these two days to mark the religious festival.

Meanwhile, the KP government has announced a three day holiday for Eid.

As per the notification issued by the Administration Department, holidays will be observed from Thursday, March 19, to Saturday, March 21.

This gives KP employees and citizens an extra day compared to the holidays given in Sindh.

Official notifications have been issued in both provinces to confirm the holiday schedules and ensure that public sector offices implement them.

Further announcements from other provinces or the federal government may follow as Eid approaches.

In Balochistan, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has already confirmed that all government employees have received their salaries before Eid so they can celebrate the festival without financial concerns.

He has instructed authorities to make sure of timely payments for employees in remote areas as well.

At the same time, transporters raised the fare for travelling during Eid ul Fitr holidays.

Transporters in Islamabad and Rawalpindi raised the fare, and travellers in both cities are facing difficulty in travelling back to their villages during Eid ul Fitr holidays.
