Federal govt announces austerity measures

Previously, the Government of Pakistan announced new administrative decisions to strengthen austerity and fuel conservation measures, due to the ongoing Iran, Israel, and US situation.

As part of these measures, the government decided to cut the salaries of senior officials in government and semi government institutions for two months.

The decision has been taken in view of the current economic situation and the need to reduce government spending and energy use in public offices.

The salary cut will apply to senior management of legal and autonomous bodies, regulatory authorities and state owned enterprises.

This includes officials holding positions such as chief executive officers, executive directors, directors and senior administrators.
