Member of Sindh Assembly Tanzila Um Habiba said that teachers’ issues and suggestions received through calls on the Helpline were formally noted and will be incorporated into the action plan.
Fake vacation notification
Sindh education minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah has dismissed a notification posted on social media. The notification stated that for the Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar all educational institutions would be given a public holiday on February 7, 2026 in the entire province of Sindh.
The viral fake notification, apparently attributed to the Sindh School Education and Literacy department, said both government and private schools would remain closed.
It also claimed that the decision was made in a sub-committee meeting of the Education Steering Committee.
Minister Sardar Ali Shah denied these claims and said that no such notification has been issued by the Provincial Education Department.
He described the notification as misleading and asked the public to not rely on unverified information on the Internet.
He appealed to parents, students, and schools to only trust notifications which are announced by official authorities.
Authorities have cautioned citizens to check any announcements about school holidays through official means of the government to avoid any confusion.
