‘Hypocrite’: Social media demands arrest of Raftar’s Farhan Malick

Social media demands arrest of Raftar’s Farhan Malick

Following fake and propagandous anti-state remarks, the Raftar founder is trending top on social media with demands for his immediate arrest going viral.

The backlash came after a clip from a discussion on Raftar TV claiming that India exposed Pakistan’s vulnerabilities went viral online.

In the short clip, participants, including Adeel Azhar, currently a presenter on Raftar TV, claimed that India exposed Pakistan’s weaknesses during the India-Pakistan conflict.

He said, “I think India has hit us really hard there, and immediately after that, this ceasefire, we can say that when the match ended, at that time, we had received three sixes in the last over. So, let’s see what happens.”

“I really feel that after this 2025 conflict, Pakistan’s geographical vulnerabilities have been exposed, he added.

Netizens have expressed their anger and disappointment on social media with some users demanding the arrest of Farhan Malick while others urging a complete ban on Raftar.

The internet users termed the baseless comments as an unsuccessful attempt to get cheap publicity. They said the world is praising Pakistan and its Armed forces for the historic win against India but these few self proclaimed journalists somehow failed to absorb the famous victory (Marka e Haq).

One user wrote on his X handle, “Arrest Farhan Malick for being such a hypocrite #ArrestFarhanMalick its about right time.”

Another said, “Accountability cannot wait any longer. We must stand united so that justice prevails and Farhan Malick is held responsible before the law.”

“The time for accountability is NOW. Let’s come together to ensure justice is served and Farhan Malick faces the law. #ArrestFarhanMalick”, X user shared.

“Some individuals in Pakistan are echoing India’s narrative for a few dollars. This undermines our national interests and spreads misinformation.”

“A media platform loses credibility the moment it chooses politics over facts. Raftaar crossed that line long ago by pushing a single party’s narrative without accountability.”

“Farhan Malick and his associates are using digital platforms to push narratives that serve foreign interests, undermining national unity and public confidence.”

Journalist Omar Qureshi rejects Raftar’s claim

Journalist Omar Qureshi has strongly rebutted Raftaar TV’s “official statement” after an old clip from the channel resurfaced online, reigniting criticism over its anti-Pakistan commentary. In a detailed post on X, Qureshi wrote, “I saw the video on Twitter/X and it was tweeted by an Indian handle. The version that I tweeted was the version that was shared by the said handle – it was not ‘selectively edited.”

He categorically denied any pressure from an “Indian lobby” or government-linked sources, stressing the decision was entirely his own.

No issue with Rafale, but with Indian pilots flying them: French Commander

Previously, a French Commander earlier confirmed that Pakistan shot down Indian Rafale jets on the night of May 6 and 7. And that there is no issue with the jets, but with the Indian pilots flying them.

Reports from around the world continue to emerge about India’s defeat in its conflict with Pakistan.

Armed forces across the world closely monitored the aerial clash between Pakistan and India in May.

The rare engagement allowed many militaries to assess the performance of pilots, fighter jets, and missile systems.

Speaking to the media, Captain Yves Launay, commander of a naval air base in northwestern France, said the issue was “not with the Rafale aircraft, but with the Indian pilots flying them.”

This base is known for its squadron of over 40 nuclear-capable Rafale fighters. Captain Launay oversees 94 naval warships, 10 nuclear submarines and 190 fighter aircraft.

He has flown Rafale jets for 25 years and has undertaken major missions in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
