Social media platform X suffers international outages during Super Bowl 2026

Popular social media platform, X has reportedly been suffering widespread international outages during the annual league championship game of the National Football League (NFL), Super Bowl 2026.

X users are experiencing delayed response time on both the app and the website, stating that pages fail to load and do not display at all.

As the country watches the Super Bowl, Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show, and the Turning Point Halftime Show, there appears to be an outage affecting the web and app versions of X.

Super Bowl 2026

Super Bowl 60 featuring the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks will conclude the 2025 NFL season on Sunday at Santa Clara, California.

According to fans, the two weeks leading up to the Super Bowl after the conference championship games provide enough opportunity for commentary and narratives.

Sam Darnold of the Seahawks is the first quarterback to lead the league in turnovers during the regular season and progress to the Super Bowl since Eli Manning of the New York Giants in 2007. Darnold committed 20 turnovers this season, compared to Manning’s 27 in 2007.

After this year’s halftime, some expressed disapproval of Bad Bunny’s performance amidst the ongoing US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids. The young artist hails from Puerto Rico, a US territory and sings mostly in Spanish.

However, Bad Bunny will be the 20th halftime artist who was not born in the continental United States. One of the first performers in the modern age of Super Bowl halftime shows, Gloria Estefan, was born in Cuba and performed in 1992.

In the past, what has been deemed by audiences as the most patriotic halftime performance ever, U2’s lead singer, Bono, another singer who is not a US national, took center stage for the 2002 show.
